From log house to farmhouse. Farmhouse to townhouse. Townhouse to apartment house. Apartment house to crack house. Crack house to our house. Our house to our home.
I'm particularly impressed because you originally said that you were just going to repaint the floors in there after you stripped them because they were in such bad shape. And the floor is beautiful!! Definitely an inspiration for me, in the midst of my own floor nightmare.
WOW! It looks gorgeous!!! And this is just the inspiration I need right now-- I'm stripping paint off the floor in my dreams as well as during all waking hours. >_>
Mmmmm. I will always regret that we did polyurethane instead of shellac on our floors downstairs. It holds up great against the dog nails and occassional pee, but it looks like a layer of plastic and doesn't do the wood justice. If I ever have to refinish floors again, I'm doing it your way. Your wood always looks so beautiful.

That looks very nice! I almost feel like I'm looking at an old house pornographic mag (err "centerfold") or something.

Great work Gary - that really looks good. Long live shellac.
